Stolle resigns as Wamogo A.D.
LITCHFIELD - The Berkshire League has lost another Athletic Director with the unexpected resignation of long-time Wamogo A.D., Mary Stolle, Tuesday night.
Stolle held the post for 10 years and is the second league A.D. to leave in recent months with Gilbert’s Mike Gamari having retired recently.
Stolle, who will remain at Wamogo as a physical education instructor, offered no reason for her decision to leave the post just two weeks before school begins.
“I have no comment,” said Stolle. “It’s just the right thing. I will give the new person all the help I possibly can.”
Wamogo Principal William Egan could not be reached for comment.
Stolle did express satisfaction with Wamogo sports program during her tenure.
“I think our program is respected, we put a good product on the field,” she said. “We do a good job of running the (boys or girls) basketball tournament and with the Litchfield-Wamogo game. And our maintenance staff does a great job. We are always ready to go.”
