TORRINGTON: When it comes to picking the top non-local pitcher on the 2013 Torrington Titans roster, the award goes to a hurler who earned the starting nod in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League All-Star game while leading the team in wins with five.

Nick Fuller, a sophomore at UMass, Dartmouth, posted a 5-1 record this summer with a 2.17 ERA in nine starts.

The lefty from Acushnet, MA worked into the fifth inning in eight of his nine outings while logging 49.2 innings this summer for the Titans.

Fuller was front and center at the All-Star game this summer, held in Pittsfield on July 25, getting the start and throwing a perfect first inning.

Two of his wins came over the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. In 11.2 innings of work over the two games, Fuller allowed just two runs on four hits.

His 5-1 win over the Dawgs on June 15th may have been his best of the year. Fuller went 5.2 innings, allowing just one hit, no runs while striking out 8.

Over his nine starts, he gave up just 13 earned runs and made the most of his summer in Torrington.

The objective of these players when they come here is to get themselves noticed and by all indications, Fuller put himself squarely on the radar of scouts around the FCBL.
