Mike Gibbons went 5-2 with an ERA of 3.08 for Wheaton College which advanced to the NCAA Division III New England Baseball Regional before being eliminated.

Wheaton was the No. 2 seed in the New England Region and was ranked 15th in the country the D3baseball.com national poll at the end of the regular season. Gibbons helped Wheaton to its 12th appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament in program history.

The Lyons earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament after claiming its 13th New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) title in the 15-year history of the league with a 6-3 victory in the championship game over MIT on Saturday, May 4.

Gibbons appeared in nine games, making six starts. He allowed 16 runs (13 earned) and 36 hits in 38 innings pitched.

Gibbons struck out 23 and walked just 10 batters this season.

At Wheaton Gibbons is a teammate of former Titan Alec Palioca, who along with Tyler Dierke helped give the Titans the best one-two combo of starting pitchers in the FCBL last season. If Gibbons can come anywhere close to Palioca's performance from a year ago the Titans will be more than pleased.
