PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league's weekly football honors for the second week of the college football season.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Deontay Greenberry • So. • WR • Houston • Fresno, Calif.
Greenberry was the key man on a Houston offense that reeled off 524 total yards in the Cougars' 22-13 win at Temple in the first American Athletic Conference league game. He had career highs of 14 receptions and 165 receiving yards, accounting for nearly half of the Cougars' 29 completed passes. The 14 receptions ranks second among FBS players this season, while Greenberry ranks fourth nationally in receptions through two games of the 2013 season (10.0 rpg).
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Calvin Pryor • Jr. • S • Louisville • Port St. Joe, Fla.
Pryor led a Louisville defense that limited Eastern Kentucky to just 206 yards of offense in the Cardinals' 44-7 win. Pryor registered eight tackles, one tackle for loss, a forced fumble, a 26-yard interception return and 22 return yards following a lateraled fumble recovery. Pryor has helped Louisville to a No. 13 national ranking in total defense (239.5 ypg) and a No. 9 rank in scoring defense (7.0 ppg) through two weeks.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JaBryce Taylor • Fr. • WR • SMU • Lufkin, Texas
Taylor finished with 207 all-purpose yards — the most by an American Athletic Conference player in a game this season — to help the Mustangs to a 31-30 win against Montana State, which entered the game ranked No. 3 in the Football Championship Subdivision. Taylor closed the first half with a 55-yard punt return for a touchdown, while he added 125 yards on six kickoff returns and one rush for 27 yards as SMU overcame a 17-point deficit to win.

Completed 23 of 32 passes for 395 yards and four touchdowns in a 44-7 win against Eastern Kentucky.
Bobby McCain • Jr. • CB • Memphis • Oxford, Ala.
Had four tackles, including three solo stops, with a pass breakup, a fumble recovery and a 75-yard interception return for a touchdown in a 28-14 loss to Duke.
Paul James • So. • RB • Rutgers • Glassboro, N.J.
Had 18 carries for 119 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-0 win against Norfolk State.
DeDe Lattimore • Sr. • LB • USF • Athens, Ga.
Had a career-high 15 tackles, including 10 solo stops, with one tackle for loss and a pass breakup in a 21-6 loss at Michigan State. Helped hold the Spartans to 265 total yards and just one offensive score.
Garrett Gilbert • Sr. • QB • SMU • Austin, Texas
Completed 35 of 48 passes for 317 yards and added 29 rushing yards in a 31-30 win against Montana State. Threw the game-winning touchdown pass with 12 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
