Bierfeldt on fire with Delmarva in Class A ball.
CHARLESTON, W.Va.: Former Western Connecticut and Torrington High School star, Conor Bierfeldt launched a grand slam, one of just three hits his Delmarva Shorebirds had in the game, but it was enough to lead them to a 5-4 win over West Virginia.
To say Bierfeldt has heated up would be an understatement. He leads the South Atlantic League (the Class A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles) with 40 RBI’s in 36 games and leads his team with six long balls.
In his last ten games, the former Torrington Titans star is batting .290 (9-31), has a hit in seven of ten outings, has walked 10 times and scored 11 runs.
Add in 14 RBI’s and three home runs and you can see why he is considered one of the O’s top power prospects.
