Brie Pergola helps lead New Haven Chargers to a 75-63 win over American International.
Torrington native, Brie Pergola is enjoying her first action on the hardwood for the New Haven Chargers women's basketball team.
In four games so far, this season, Pergola is doing what a lot of those who watched her during her four years as a star at Torrington High School thought she might.
She's standing out.
On Tuesday night against American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts, the freshman guard helped lead her team to a 75-63 win over the Yellowjackets with a 20-point (8-13 from the floor), five rebound and four assist effort in the win.
With the win, the Chargers evened their record at 2-2 and were led in the scoring column by Allieyan Cubbage who had 23 points.

In four games, Pergola is averaging a team high 35.2 minutes per game and leads the team in assists with 12 (4 per game) and with Tuesday's effort, is in double digits in points with 10.5.
If you want to catch Pergola play, the Chargers play in West Haven at the Chargers Gymnasium and will be home for a three-game home stand on Sunday (Nov 26) versus Golden-Beacom at 1:30, Wednesday against Abby Hurlbert and the Southern Connecticut Owls at 5:30 and Saturday, December 2 versus Saint Rose at 1:30.
New Haven will also be in Waterbury during Christmas break when they visit Post University at 1 p.m. on New Year's Eve.
