BOYS BASKETBALL

Wilby 60, Torrington 47

Highlights: Wilby  - Devyn Baranauskas, 25 points. Torrington – Jalen Johnson, 12 points; Martin Mitchell, 10 points; Tony Consolino, 10 points.

Records: Torrington 5-5, Wilby 5-5.

Note of Importance: Torrington will look to rebound from this loss Friday at home against Ansonia.

Gilbert 74, Northwestern 67

At Gilbert

Highlights:  Northwestern – Bobby Lippincott, 21 points; Connoe Guiheen, 14 points. Gilbert – Austin Brochu, 21 points;  Elide Romero, 16 points.

Records: Gilbert 8-0, Northwestern 6-3.

Note of Importance: Gilbert remains tied atop the Berkshire League at 8-0.

Housatonic 45, Lewis Mills 44

At Lewis Mills

Highlights:  Housatonic – Andrew Hoffman, 15 points. LM – Ben Borkowski, 17 points; Evan Olson, 7 points.

Records:  Housatonic 6-3, Lewis Mills 3-6.

Note of Importance:  Hoffman’s basket with 10 seconds left was the difference.

Nonnewaug 62, Shepaug 37

Highlights:  Shepaug – Brett Burmann, 10 points. Nonnewaug – Cody St. John, 12 points; Colin Schneider, 10 points.

Records:  Nonnewaug 8-0, Shepaug 2-7.

Note of Importance:  The win was Nonnewaug’s 30th straight in BL play.

Terryville 48, Thomaston 40

Highlights: Thomaston – Nick Pesce, 17 points. Terryville – Matt Sterner, 13 points; Tyler Trillo, 12 points; Jacob Johnson, 11 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Nonnewaug 55, Shepaug 50 in double overtime

At Shepaug

Highlights:  Nonnewaug – Caitlin Drakeley, 18 points; Katie Burke, 17 points; Maddie Haskins, 10 points. Shepaug – Meghan White, 19 points, 6 three-pointers.

Records:  Nonnewaug 7-4, Shepaug 4-7.

Note of Importance:  Nonnewaug converted on only one field goal in the extra sessions, but made 11 free throws to seal the win.

Thomaston 43, Terryville 38

At Terryville

Highlights:  Thomaston – Laura Miller, 11 points; Maggie Eberhardt, 10 points; Kellie Burns, 10 points. Terryville – Jessica Albino, 17 points.

Records:  Thomaston 9-1; Terryville 3-8.

Note of Importance:  After scoring in single digits in each of the first three quarters, Thomaston outscored the Kangaroos, 18-9, in the final period to earn the win.

Lewis Mills 56, Housatonic 30

Highlights:  LM – Amanda Adamski, 14 points; Katherine Bayne, 7 points. Housatonic – Danielle Kearns, 9 points.

Records:  Lewis Mills 11-0; Housatonic 6-5.

Note of Importance:  Lewis Mills held the Mountaineers under 10 points in all four quarters.

 

Wamogo 43, Litchfield 29

Highlights:  Wamogo – Caycee Williams, 15 points; Kerri Stolle, 14 points. Litchfield – Isabelle Binstadt, 10 points.

Records:  Wamogo 7-4; Litchfield 4-7.
