WINSTED-Senior Devon Molway rushed for 255 yards and three touchdowns to power Gilbert-Northwestern to an impressive, 43-14, victory over Housatonic-Wamogo in the 27th Berkshire Bowl Thanksgiving Day.
One of Molway’s touchdowns came on a 95-yard scamper that set a new Gilbert record for the longest run from scrimmage.
Despite the victory, the 7-3 Yellowjackets missed out on the state playoffs, as two of the three teams ahead of them for the eighth and final spot in the Class M tournament--Bethel and Waterford--won to eliminate the Winsted school from a second straight trip to the big dance.
