THOMASTON: If Mother Nature cooperates, which with her record this winter is no guarantee, Tim Gaffney and Rick Wilson will launch a special show on Wednesday, February 18 from Thomaston High School, home of the Golden Bears.

They will be recording a Litchfield County Sports Road Show, similar to the ones that have been seen at Sawyer’s in Torrington, The Litchfield Saltwater Grille and Applebee’s in Torrington over the past six months.

This show will be a special one, taped from the home base of Mr. Wilson, a history teacher at the high school and will be run by students at the school under the guidance of Michelle Dayton, who runs the video department.

It’s a great honor for us to be able to talk about what’s going on in the world of local sports from a standout school that is a member of the Berkshire League and brought home Class S championships in both basketball and softball a year ago.

The show will be taped and run on Cablevision channel 5 with the time and day to be determined.

We will also download the program so it can be seen on our web-site’s video section.

Our Cable 5 program will begin taping in early March as well as we continue to talk more local sports than any media company in the area.

Stay tuned for information on a special March Madness Show live from Sawyer’s on Wednesday, March 18 from 6-7 p.m.
