Litchfield edges Lewis Mills for first win

Matt McCarthy scored 15 points and Steven Rinquist hit a jumper with two minutes to play that turned out to be the game-winner as Litchfield knocked off Lewis Mills, 33-31, in a Berkshire League matchup on Tuesday night.
It was the first win of the season for Litchfield (1-7) and it ended a two-game win streak for Lewis Mills (3-4).
McCarthy scored 11 of his points in the first half as the Cowboys opened up a 23-14 lead.
The Spartans had trouble with the Cowboys' man-to-man defense most of the night and led just once all game. Travis Martin scored on a putback with 5:10 left in the fourth to give Mills a 30-29 lead but the Spartans managed just one point the rest of the way.
