Coombs to Transfer from UConn Women’s Basketball

STORRS, Conn. – Sophomore guard Mikayla Coombs has decided to transfer from the UConn women’s basketball program, as announced by head coach Geno Auriemma Tuesday.

“We appreciate Mikayla for her effort and for being a great teammate the last two seasons,” Auriemma said. “We wish Mikayla and her family the best as she continues her college career.”

“I would like to thank the UConn community and the coaching staff for everything they have done for me during my time here,” Coombs said. “I wish everyone at UConn the best, and I am excited for the next chapter.”

Coombs played in 56 career games for the Huskies, averaging 1.0 points and 1.3 rebounds per game. She played double-digit minutes in 20 games.
