The Spartans continue an impressive season with an easy win in Winsted.
Individual Results
#1 Singles: Trevor Robinson (Mills) defeated Ian Ellsworth (Gilbert): 6-1, 6-1
Comments: Trevor played more consistently today than in his previous match. He seemed to be watching the ball better and moving into it, which helped him have a more consistent 1st serve percentage.
#2 Singles: Holden Robinson (Mills) defeated Luke Snyder (Gilbert): 6-0, 6-2
Comments: Holden moved his player all round the court with drop shots, topspin, lobs, etc. This helped Holden control the match and its tempo.
#3 Singles: Bill Bentley (Mills) defeated Kannon Cole (Gilbert): 6-0, 6-0
Comments: Another solid service day for Bill, who also hit some great forehand winners. Bill yet again overpowered his opponent with those two strokes.
#1 Doubles: Sinclair Bush and Jake Perfetto (Mills) defeated Nick Kulinski and Austin Stoeke (Gilbert): 6-0, 6-1
#2 Doubles: Jeff Molgano and Eric Jameson (Mills) defeated Tim Kurlick and Tyler Zani (Gilbert): 6-1, 6-0
Comments: I made a change at the Mills doubles line-up, which seemed to create a deeper line-up from the previous one. Both doubles team seemed to have better chemistry and were returning/hitting the ball a lot more effectively and aggressively. This allowed both teams to play more points at the net, which turned into winners. Hopefully, this continues with the line-up shift and helps both doubles teams earn more victories down the stretch.
This puts us at 8-0 for the season. Next up is a match against Litchfield, home, on Friday, 4/29.
