Titans Hire O’Malley as GM

Mike O'Malley has taken on the role of General Manager for the newly returned Torrington Titans of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League. O’Malley is currently in his second year as Assistant Baseball Coach at Brown University, a member of the Ivy League, in Providence, RI.

O'Malley instructs the Bear’s infielders and assists with the Bear’s hitters. O’Malley also directs the Bear's baseball camps, coordinates team travel coordination, assists in nationwide recruiting efforts and is actively involved in all aspects of the program's management. “Being in collegiate baseball year round gives me a huge advantage in operating a collegiate summer franchise.” O’Malley said.

Besides his coaching career, O’Malley’s professional background has allowed him to engage in many different facets of management that he will face in Torrington. As a representative for a large supply company, O’Malley was one of the fastest rising employees before he decided to pursue a career shift as a relationship manager for a business consultancy in Wakefield, RI. Most recently, O’Malley has continued his consulting career as the Lead Innovation Strategist for an international retailer out of Rockland, MA.

O’Malley competed with the Team Connecticut Bombers as a high-school player and played collegiately at The University of Rhode Island. He was a standout shortstop for the Rams helping to lead URI to three Atlantic 10 Championship appearances in three years. He is no stranger to summer ball as he spent summers in Hawaii and New Jersey as a player. Following his collegiate career, O’Malley signed professionally with the Can-Am League's Worcester Tornadoes. “I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity here in Torrington, with the great baseball tradition, the community support, a proven winner in Coach Hunt and the promotions we have planned.” O’Malley stated

O’Malley graduated from The University of Rhode Island earning a Bachelor's Degree in Communications with a Minor in Business Management. He currently lives in Newport, Rhode Island during his transition to Torrington, CT.
