Ben Power

Ben Power was a three-sport athlete (soccer, basketball, and baseball) during his time at Torrington High School and had the honor of being named Co-Captain for both his soccer and baseball teams during his senior season.  On the baseball field, Ben was a skilled shortstop for the Raiders, but he was probably most well-known for his powerful hitting.  His impressive .387 batting average, 5 homeruns, and 24 RBIs during his twenty-one-game senior season made him a great addition to the 1995 All-NVL Baseball Team.  However, winning the 1995 NVL Baseball Championship that same year remains his fondest memory in a Raider jersey.

After graduating from THS in 1995, Ben attended The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA where he was a four-year starter and captain during his senior season.  As a Crusader, Ben held longstanding batting records for single-season homeruns (7) and career homeruns (20). Ben was named to the All-Patriot League Second Team in 1997.

Ben returned home to proudly represent his hometown as a Torrington Twister during his collegiate summers on the 1997 and 1998 rosters.  He also played with the Bethlehem Plowboys in the Tri-State League and helped them win a Tri-State title. Ben graduated from Holy Cross in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.

After college, Ben lived out in the LA County area for twelve years but returned home to the East Coast in 2014.  He owns his own cost-reduction consulting business.  Ben currently resides in Burlington, CT with his wife, Amy, his son, Jacob, and his stepdaughter, Maia.
