February 23-March 1, 2013: The Thomaston girls’ basketball team is starting their roll in the Class S State Tournament as they disposed of Lyman Memorial by a 64-41 score at “The Cave”.

The win puts the Golden Bears into the quarterfinals.

February 23, 2012: The Holy Cross Crusaders ran their record to a spotless 22-0 with a hard fought 57-54 win over Torrington in the finals of the Naugatuck Valley League Tournament.

Caycee Williams had a double-double with 16 points and 19 rebounds while Alyssa Otis paced the Raider Scoring with 24 points in the loss.

February 24, 2012: The Thomaston Golden Bears came away with the Berkshire League Tournament Championship with a 49-41 win over Wamogo.

Maggie Eberhardt paced the Bears attack with 17 points.

February 23, 2011: The Holy Cross Crusaders take the NVL Championship with a 65-48 win over rival Torrington. Sarah Royals, who had beaten the Crusaders with a four-point play at the end of their last meeting, led the Raiders with 19 points.

February 24, 2011: The Dream Season continued for the Lewis Mills girls’ basketball team as they won the Berkshire League Tournament with a 41-34 win over Thomaston. Amanda Adamski led the Spartans effort with 14 points.

February 28, 2011: A new summer baseball league, the Futures Collegiate Baseball League, is formed and the Torrington Titans make up a league that starts with four teams. Legendary Twisters head coach, Gregg Hunt, comes back for one more season at Fuessenich Park.
