Torrington girls soccer wins record 13th game with 4-1 decision over visiting Wolcott.
Torrington- The beat goes on for the Torrington girls soccer team as it posted a 4-1 win over Wolcott, on Senior Night.
Joline Osterhout got the scoring going midway through the first half off an assist from Taylor Christiano.
Christiano found the nets herself 10 minutes later with help from Aly Otis on the assist.
In the second half, Ottis set up another teammate, Michaela Bottari for a goal with the home team adding a final goal on a Sarah Royals penalty kick.
The win gives the Raiders a final 2010 record of 13-1-1, not only the best in school history but good enough for a second-place ranking (behind NVL rival, Watertown) in the Class L State standings.
Head coach Mario Longobucco expects his team to drop to third when the remaining teams finish their schedules.
Not half bad for a first year.
The Naugatuck Valley League Championships start this Saturday and it appears the Raiders will draw St Paul in the opening round, which will be played at Wolcott High School.
