TORRINGTON: When we first started the Litchfield County Sports radio show on WAPJ (105.1 and 89.9 F.M.) none of us had no idea how it was going to go.

Five years later, we can’t believe how far we have gone.

The show is aired on Monday nights between 6 and 7 p.m. and features a combination of the following members of the LCS family.

Gaffney, Rick Wilson, Patrick Tiscia and John Nestor make up the core of the show with any combo of that working on any given night.

Monday’s show featured Gaffney, Wilson and Tiscia covering subjects that started with the local high school football scene and ended with a discussion about the 2.72 million dollars Torrington has been given to repair an awful track, a worn football field and bleachers that are just this side of beyond worn out.

Throw a healthy dose of the UConn Huskies football game Wilson and Gaffney attended and it was a healthy and fast moving show, as it often is.

Not bad for guys who used to worry they could not fill a half hour, they could go for hours if needed at this point.

NFL Points: So much for the Jets going unbeaten. Yeah, we weren’t betting on that one. Doesn’t figure that the Jets have a win and the Giants don’t. Wilson and Tiscia, big NYG fans, are not happy with that start. The G-men will still double the J-E-T-S win total when all is said and done.

Does it look as if Peyton Manning is on a mission over the first two weeks? Yikes.

I still find myself looking the Jerome (The Bus) Bettis whenever I watch Big Ben and the Steelers. Can Pittsburg find any kind of running game?

Had to thank Aaron Rodgers for the discount-double-check of a game this Sunday in my fantasy league this week. I never play in paid leagues, I have no talent what so ever and I don’t mean on my roster.
