TORRINGTON VS. JOEL BARLOW

WHEN: Tonight, 7 p.m.

LOCATION: Robert H. Frost Sports Complex, Torrington

RECORDS: Torrington 0-5; Joel Barlow 4-1

LAST WEEK: Naugatuck 33, Torrington 3; Joel Barlow 45, New Fairfield 21

LAST SEASON: Did not meet

TISCIA'S PICK:  Joel Barlow 38, Torrington 16 - Asking for a win here from Torrington may be too much, but asking for improvement isn't.

WOLCOTT TECH VS PRINCE TECH

WHEN: Saturday, noon

LOCATION: Wolcott Tech High School

RECORDS: Wolcott Tech 1-3; Prince Tech 5-0

LAST WEEK: Wolcott Tech 34, Whitney Tech 0; Prince Tech 40, Wilcox Tech 14

LAST SEASON: Prince Tech 38, Wolcott Tech 6

TISCIA'S PICK: Prince Tech 33, Wolcott Tech 20 - The Wildcats have played very well the last two weeks, especially on offense, notching 74 points in that span. They will need similar production to upset unbeaten Prince Tech.

LEWIS MILLS VS. GRANBY MEMORIAL

WHEN: Saturday, 1:30 p.m.

LOCATION: Granby Memorial High School

RECORDS: Lewis Mills 0-4; Granby Memorial 1-3

LAST WEEK: Coginchaug 40, Lewis Mills 7; Granby Memorial 42, Haddam-Killingworth 22

LAST SEASON: Did not meet

TISCIA'S PICK: Granby Memorial 35, Lewis Mills 14 - The Spartans will not get their first win here, but have a great chance to pick it up next week at home against Housatonic/Wamogo.

HOUSATONIC/WAMOGO VS. AVON

WHEN: Saturday, 2 p.m.

LOCATION: Housatonic Valley Regional High School

RECORDS: Housatonic/Wamogo 0-4; Avon 3-2

LAST WEEK: Stafford 30, Housatonic/Wamogo 8; Avon 41, North Brandford 38

LAST SEASON: Avon 37, Housatonic/Wamogo 7

TISCIA'S PICK: Avon 36, Housatonic/Wamogo 6 - This will be a very tough game for the Mountaineers, who have yet to crack double digits this season.

NONNEWAUG VS. CANTON

WHEN: Saturday, 3 p.m.

LOCATION: Nonnewaug High School

RECORDS: Nonnewaug 1-3; Canton 3-1

LAST WEEK: SMSA 26, Nonnewaug 20; Canton 28, Coventry 27

LAST SEASON: Did not meet

TISCIA'S PICK: Canton 32, Nonnewaug 17 - Canton, with quality wins over Avon and Coventry on its resume, will be too much for the Chiefs to handle at this point in their development.
