The Wolcott Tech Boys Volleyball team earned their first victory of the season playing Maloney High School at the Wolcott Tech Gym for their first home game of the season.
Maloney brought a great defensive team and some equally impressive offensive skills. However, the Wildcats kept their composure to take the victory with a 3-0 sweep.
Playing well for Wolcott Tech was setter Aidan Bernhardt with 21 assists, 5 digs; Outside Hitter Hunter Miket with 8 kills, 12 digs, 2 aces; Outside Hitter Angel Lopez had 9 kills, 7 digs, 1 block; Middle Hitter Ben Cook had 4 kills, 3 blocks; and Chris Speaker had 4 kills and 1 block.
The Wildcats brought great communication, hustle and court coverage, and have brought their practice skills to the game. The Wildcats are now 1-3 and play Hand high school in Madison on Wednesday, April 11.
The Junior Varsity team brought the Maloney Spartans to three games with some great plays and digs, but the Spartans were able to sneak the victory from the Wildcats. The young JV team learned the importance of communication and team work and have greatly improved their skill sets over the past three weeks and continue to get better every day.
