2013 Torrington Hall of Fame Inductees.....Jim Zeller.

When they say "It takes a Village", they were right.

For any community to thrive, it takes a certain person who simply hsa it in them to do the right thing and support local.

The 2013 Torrington Hall of Fame is honoring one such man who has given back in droves.

Jim Zeller, President of Zeller Tire Company in Torrington, a supporter of Litchfield County since our inception three years ago, is being recognized because of his long time financial support of athletics in the City of Torrington anmd Litchfield County.

Zeller graduated from Torrington High School in 1959 where he served as co-captain of the tracck team.

He lettered in his final two years before moving on to college where he graduated from Marietta College.

If you look around Torrington, you can't help but see the imprints of Zeller and his kindness.

He has been the president of the Vito "Billy" Colangelo Sports since it's creation in 1989.

This group has raised more than $1,000,000 (that's a million dollars) for the sports complex that in now home to the Torrington Midget Football program and three Little League fields that are maintained ad controlled by their respective organization.

-Zeller is also affiliated with the Dick's Scholarship Fund which recognizes worthy students with financial awards.

-Zeller has sponsored numerous basebal, basketball, soccer and football teams in the Litchfield County Area.

-Zeller Tire was also made sure over 3,000 soccer balls made their way to the youth in Litchfield County.

-Zeller Tire is currently a major sponsor of the P 38's American Leagion Baseball Team.
