Titans Outlook: Head coach Gregg Hunt is looking forward to seeing this backstop compete at Fuessenich Park this summer.

“He is a very good catch and throw guy,” Hunt said, “Right now he is getting over a hand injury that has effected his hitting but is going to hit.”

Former Torrington Twister, Pete Maki, now an assistant coach at Columbia, recommended Fischer to Hunt and the Titans skipper jumped at the chance to get a talented backstop.

Having a catcher who can handle a staff that he will have to get to know on the fly is a huge advantage for any team and the Titans seemed to have landed a good one.

The Lions pitching staff is pitching to a 3.63 ERA as of April 19 and Fischer has been behind the plate in 26 of their 32 games to date.

The Scotia, New York native also played basketball and volleyball in high school at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake where he was a three-year letter winner.

Was a two-time captain of his baseball team in high school and twice earned All-League honors.

Batted .373 as a senior with a .481 on-base percentage.

Personal: Eying a biology major…brother Dave plays baseball at Uconn..Son of Mary and Eric Fischer.
