Titans Outlook: Ad another solid glove to the Titans already defensive minded infield with the pick-up of Hunter.

The slick fielding, hard hitting Hunter has opened some eyes with his outstanding spring with the Bulldogs.

Aside from a .298 batting average, Hunter drove in 24 runs, third highest on the team.

He had 36 hits, scored 17 runs and launched nine doubles. His .348 on-base percentage makes him a manager coach Hunt’s kind of player.

Had a monster 3-for-6 game against Hartford early in the season that saw him drive in six runs.

Other highlights included a 2-for-2 with two runs scored performance against Titans general manager Mike O’Malley’s Brown University on 4/29.

“Jacob drives the ball well and uses all fields,” O’Malley said, “He battles at the plate and is a tough guy to strikeout.”

As the season draws to a close, O’Malley expects Hunter to be in the mix for post season awards for his stellar 2011.

Before Yale: Four-year letterman at Salpointe Catholic High School in Tuscon, Az. As a junior, was voted the 5A Southern Arizona Player of the Year. Earned 5A First Team All-State and Junior Sunbelt All-Tournament honors as a shortstop and pitcher as a junior. As a senior, was again selected to the 5A Southern Arizona First Team while garnering Second Team 5A All-State honors.
