CHH Offering Three High School Athletic Conditioning Camps This Summer.

(Torrington, CT)  - The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Rehabilitation Department/Sports Medicine & Athletic Training Program is offering three sports conditioning camps in August for high school athletes. The “A Cut Above” conditioning camp is designed to help our local athletes succeed during the off-season.

“The key to success in athletics is participating in a broad range of activities and hard work in the off-season. Our specialized blend of exercises will improve performance and instill a solid exercise foundation in those who attend” said CHH Athletic Program Director Amanda Hill.

She noted that the Athletic Training staff is committed to helping participants achieve their full athletic potential by combining an intricate blend of strength and conditioning principles geared towards athletic achievement.

The camps are run by four Nationally Certified and State Licensed Athletic Trainers from Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. The goal is to give athletes a chance to participate in a rigorous but affordable speed, agility, conditioning, and injury prevention camps.

The camps teach the athletes proper stretching techniques and a specific breakdown of athletic movements that can be applied to their sport to help reduce the incident of injury and to improve their overall strength and conditioning.

The camps also utilize various plyometric and functional exercises to enhance overall physical performance for all athletes from an incoming freshman to a high-level varsity athlete.

Three “A Cut Above” Preseason Conditioning Camps are being offered the following dates:

August 4th-8th 5:30pm-6:30pm at The Gilbert High School

August 11th-15th 6:30pm-7:30pm at Litchfield High School Plumb Hill Fields

August 14-15th, 18-21st 5:30-6:30 at Northwestern Regional #7

Cost is $40.00 for each camp - Particpants may register for multiple camps
