Fabiaschi gets assigned....Geltz and Bulls face former Brave Jurrjens.

Torrington's own Michael Fabiaschi has been assigned to play in the Class A Advanced California League for the Stockton Ports, an Oakland Athletics affiliate. 

Fabiaschi, who saw action with three different teams a year ago, enters his fourth professional season.

The Ports are off to a 2-0 start after a comeback 4-2 win on Friday night against the Bakersfield Blaze.


Former Torrington Twister Steve Geltz is a member of the Class AAA International League Durham Bulls, a Tampa Bay Rays affiliate.

Geltz was traded from the Anaheim Angels after appearing in four games for the Angels in 2012.

The Bull have ruun into some bad weather to date, only getting one game in so far, an 11-2 win over the Norfolk Tides, a Baltimore affiliate.

On Saturday night, former Atlanta Brave All Star, Jair Jurrjens will take the mouund for the Tides.

Jurrjens is looking to regain his All-Star form after having an off season in 2012.

The Orioles signed him to a minor league contract this spring.
