Familiar name joins Wolcott Tech football coaching ranks. Press Release from AD Ray Tanguay.

The Wolcott Tech Athletic Department is proud to announce the addition of Joe Perusse, as the new defensive coordinator of the Wolcott Tech Wildcats Football Team.

Joe’s resume is impressive as a player and a coach. As a football player, Joe was All NVL, All-State Honorable Mention, and has received the Outstanding Defensive Player Award(twice), Outstanding Offensive Player, Outstanding Lineman Award during his high school career, a 1987 NVL Championship, and has been inducted into the THS Athletic Hall of Fame, Class of 2007.

Joe coaching resume is equally impressive coaching at The Gilbert School from 1988 to 1990 and at Torrington High School from 1994 to 1999.

Jamie Coty, Head Coach at Wolcott Tech states that “Joe does an excellent job teaching the kids, he is well liked and respected.”

Ray Tanguay, Wolcott Tech Athletic Director states that “Joe is a welcome addition to our already talented coaching staff and the transition of Joe into our program was smooth. Joe’s experience as a player and coach will make our program stronger.”

Joe lives in Torrington with wife Jan, and three children Garrett, Jagger, and Kassi
