Tennis Camp Press Release 2017

Looking for a fun way to learn the basics of tennis? Are you a player with some experience looking for ways to improve your game and get some time on the courts this summer?

Litchfield Parks and Recreation is offering Level I and Level II Tennis Camps from August 1st through the 5th with instructor, Dan Porri, LHS Varsity Girls’ Head Tennis Coach at the Litchfield High School Courts.

Level I Tennis Camp is best for beginners. Participants will learn the fundamental skills of tennis (groundstrokes, volleys, serve, scoring, basic strategy) through group and individual drills and fun activities and games.

Level II Tennis Camp is perfect for players who have a basic understanding of tennis and are looking to take their game to the next level. Participants will improve their fundamental strokes and explore singles and doubles tactics through group and individual drills and fun activities and games. Players will also have a chance to test their skills in full ladder matches against other camp participants!

Both camps are open to Grades 4 and up.

Level I Tennis Camp will run from 8 am to 10 am on the Litchfield High School Tennis Courts, Monday through Friday July 31- August 4. Level II Tennis camp will run from 10 am- noon. $130 for these camps.

To register you can print up a standard form from the web and mail it in. You may register the first day of camp but slots are filling up and you don’t want to get left out! Checks should be made out to Dan Porri and sent into Litchfield Park and Rec, P.O. Box 12, Bantam, CT 06750.

The fee for the week-long camp is $130. Please contact Litchfield Parks and Recreation at (860) 567-7569 with any questions. The website is and go to departments and then to Recreation. Go to “Registration” forms and select “Standard Form.”
