Naugatuck: The Torrington girls soccer team traveled to Naugatuck for a key NVL Copper Division match up and escaped with a 1-0 victory

After a scoreless first half Torrington struck early when Kendra Covington sent a ball forward where Olivia Morrison slid a beautiful ball to Paige Middleton who buried the opportunity for a 1-0 Torrington lead

Naugatuck dominated in every way but were unable to capitalize as Torrington packed the box with eight defenders.

Taylor Pestritto, Lindsay Trobel, Tori Flowers, and Covington played great defense under immense Naugatuck pressure. Torrington's bench came through with valuable minutes as two Torrington starters went down with injuries

Naugatuck enjoyed a 29-3 shot advantage and Torrington's Taylor Howe was up to the challenge posting the shutout and registering 15 saves

Cailah Baranowski had two saves for Naugatuck.
