Raiders open with 62-25 win over Wilby in girls basketball
The Torrington girls basketball team hit the road for opening night and came away with a strong 62-25 win over Wilby.
Caroline Teti, who will be counted on to score in a big way this season, came through in a big way with 20 points.
"Caroline played real well." head coach Michael Fritch said. "She hit two 3-pointers on the night and shot the ball great."
Teti got help from senior Nicole Kozlak, who added 16 points.
Both will be counted on for a bulk of the teams offense and in game one, did enough to get the visitors a road win.
Torrington raced out to a 25-7 score after one, 37-12 at the half and cruised home.
A tougher matchup is on tap for Friday night when the Raiders host rival Naugatuck in their home opener.
