DAY AND TIME: Thursday, 6 p.m.

LOCATION: Municipal Stadium, Waterbury

RECORDS: Torrington, 5-2; Sacred Heart 4-3

LAST WEEK'S RESULTS: Torrington 61, Wilby 28; Holy Cross 32, Sacred Heart 26

LAST SEASON'S MATCHUP: Torrington 35, Sacred Heart 14 at the Robert H. Frost Sports Complex

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: If you are a stat geek (like we are here), then this is the game for you. Sacred Heart's Rohan Ifill, in just seven games, has thrown for 1,552 yards and 14 touchdowns, both good for first in the Naugatuck Valley League. Hearts receiver David Coggins, only a sophomore, leads the NVL with 51 receptions, 889 yards and eight touchdowns. In total, Hearts average 29.2 points a game. Torrington's Brenden Lytton is coming off a state-record performance with nine touchdowns against Wilby last week, and has rushed for a total of 1,589 yards.

TISCIA'S PICK: Torrington 41, Sacred Heart 36. Both teams, as I'm sure you could tell by the numbers listed above, are far better on the offensive side of the ball than on defense. This game will come down to who gets a defensive stop in the fourth quarter, and based on what I've seen in person this year, the Red Raiders are a slightly better defensive team.
