Titans add Post University pitching coach for 2011 season.
The Titans are proud to announce the hiring of Forrest Irwin as the pitching coach for the 2011 FCBL season. Irwin will enter his first year as the pitching coach for the Titans and will assist Manager Gregg Hunt with the ballclub. Irwin is also the pitching coach for Post University in Waterbury, CT.
Forrest Irwin was hired in the fall of 2010 to take over the Post Univeristy pitching staff which finished with the third lowest ERA in the CACC at 4.08. The Eagles return Second-Team All-Conference selection Dan Steers, who finished last year 8-3 with a 2.10 ERA along with 74 strikeouts in 85.2 innings pitched.
Coach Irwin arrived at Post after a stint at SUNY-Purchase from 2008-2010 as the Assistant Baseball Coach responsible for pitchers and catchers. Prior to that, he was the Assistant Baseball Coach/Recruiting Coordinator at Iona College from 2003-2005. In the summer of 2003, Irwin was the Pitching Coach for the Danbury Westerners of the prestigious NECBL where his staff finished with an ERA of 3.26 and he also worked with five pitchers who were selected in the MLB Draft. He was also the Head Baseball Coach at Briarcliffe College which was once considered one of the top Division I junior colleges in the country. Irwin graduated from Dowling College with a B.A. in Business Administration and Management.
