Nashua, New Hampshire

It was one of those nights for the Torrington Titans of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League.

They traveled to New Hampshire to take on the Silver Knights and for three innings, things stayed calm.

Torrington actually scored the games first run in the top of the fourth when Kyle Murphy scored on a long double by Aaron Nardone, who was thrown out trying to stretch his hit into a triple.

From there, things got ugly. The home team would put up a four-spot in the bottom of the frame on a grand-slam by James Katsiroubas of Titans starter, Kevin Bartlett for a 4-1 lead.

Silver Knights starter, Geoff Fisher went seven innings, allowing just the one run on six hits for the win.

Nashua added four more runs in the bottom of the seventh and another in the eighth in cruising to their fourth win of the year (4-5).

Andrew Spleth had two hits in the loss for the Titans in front of an announced crowd of 583.

Torrington falls to 3-3 and will be back on the road on Monday night as they make their first visit to Martha’s Vineyard to face the Sharks, who sit atop the FCBL standings with a 4-1 record.
