SEACOAST: Joey Dinino and Tyler Wilson combined on a four-hit shutout as the Torrington Titans beat the Seacoast Mavericks by a 4-0 score.

Dinino, coming off Tommy John surgery, made his first start and went four, allowing just three hits.

Wilson was spectacular in his five inning stint, allowing just one hit while striking out seven.

The Titans scored all their runs in the first three innings.

Kyle Murphy drove in Rich Graef with a single in the first to start the scoring.

Darryl Wilson Jr and Graef drove in Cole Harrison and Ryan Sonberg respectively in the second before Harrison finished the scoring by driving in Murphy in the third for the 4-0 lead.

With pitching at a premium right now for Torrington, the efforts of Spencer Kane on Sunday against Martha’s Vineyard and Dinino and Wilson’s effort on Monday night are huge.

The Titans big four, Connor McMahon, Tyler Erickson, Gavin McCullough and Kevin Bartlett have won a combined 11 games with McCullough at 5-0.

The Titans face off against Nashua Tuesday night on the road with first place on the line.

Torrington sports a 14-7 record while the Silver Knights hold a 15-8 record. Tonight’s winner will move a full game up in the standings.

McMahon, who has won his last two starts including the leagues first no-hitter, will be on the mound for the Titans.

The Titans will be back in Torrington on Wednesday when they play two against the Sharks at 4 and 7 p.m.
