Titans re-sign Plourde....Other news from the FCBL.
TORRINGTON: The Torrington Titans announced on Sunday that they are bringing back a crowd favorite from last season in former Holy Cross High School star Ryan Plourde.
Plourde, who hit .198 in 39 games for the Titans, caught almost every game down the stretch after injuries left the team with just one catcher.
A workhorse who led the team with 26 walks, Plourde is in his second season with Fairfield University this fall.
-The Titans are getting close to naming their manager for 2012 after Gregg Hunt stepped down earlier this month.
-As of today, five teams make up the Futures Collegiate Baseball League with as many as three more nearing the final stages of earning league approval.
-The Titans will be playing a 54-game season in 2012, a dozen more than they did last season.
-A Hot Stove Dinner is in the works for this winter, details will follow as they become available.
