TORRINGTON: Good news for the Torrington football team and Raiders fans.

The Raiders will not lose any home games due to construction on their new turf field.

Torrington will play two games at the Torrington Middle School football field, home of the Warriors of Pop Warner football. On Saturday, September 20, Torrington will host Woodland at 3 p.m.

The following Saturday, September 27, the Raiders will challenge Oxford at 3 p.m. as well.

Their field is scheduled for completion on Monday, October 6 with their first football game slated for Saturday, October 11 when they take on Derby.

Schedules are being looked at that will allow the Warriors to play on the new turf field this fall at some point.

October 11th is looking to be a big day at the new complex with a ribbon cutting ceremony planned with local and state dignitaries expected to be on hand.

Litchfield County will be front and center that day with a live show from the field starting at 1:30 p.m.
