Torrington softball reigns supreme in NVL with 3-1 win over defending champion, Seymour.
It came down to some serious drama in the seventh inning but the Torrington Red Raiders girls softball team hung on for a 3-1 win over Seymour and their first ever Naugatuck Valley League Championship.
Sydney Matzko struck out the final two batters she faced with runners on second and third after giving up a home run to start the final inning.
The win moves the Torrington record to 23-0 and marks a milestone for a program that lost this same game to the same team by a 1-0 score just last year.
