DAY AND TIME: Friday, 6:30 p.m.

LOCATION: Stafford High School

RECORDS: Housatonic/Wamogo 3-4; Stafford 1-7

LAST WEEK'S RESULTS: Both teams had bye weeks

LAST SEASON'S MATCHUP: Stafford 20, Housatonic/Wamogo 12 in Falls Village.

TISCIA'S PICK: Housatonic/Wamogo 22, Stafford 18. A win here will put the Mountaineers one win away securing a .500 season, which would be a tremendous accomplishment.

DAY AND TIME: Saturday, 1:30 p.m.

LOCATION: St. Paul High School

RECORDS: Torrington 5-3; St. Paul 2-6

LAST WEEK'S RESULTS: Sacred Heart 42, Torrington 27; Ansonia 54, St. Paul 21

LAST SEASON'S MATCHUP: St. Paul 26, Torrington 20 in Torrington

TISCIA'S PICK: Torrington 27, St. Paul 17. I see Torrington getting a little revenge after losing a last-second thriller to the Falcons last season. St. Paul's defense has had difficulty as of late and Brenden Lytton is the last person that unit wants to see right now.

DAY AND TIME: Saturday, 1 p.m.

LOCATION: Van Why Field at The Gilbert School

RECORDS: Gilbert/Northwestern 5-2; Canton 3-5

LAST WEEK'S RESULTS: Both team had bye weeks

LAST SEASON'S MATCHUP: Gilbert/Northwestern 12, Canton 7 in Canton

TISCIA'S PICK: Gilbert/Northwestern 24, Canton 8. It's do-or-die time for the Yellowjackets, who can not afford another loss if they want to reach the state tournament. They should win this one pretty easily.

DAY AND TIME: Saturday, 1 p.m.

LOCATION: Cromwell High School

RECORDS: Lewis Mills 1-7; Cromwell 5-2

LAST WEEK'S RESULTS: Lewis Mills did not play due to forfeit; Cromwell 53, Wolcott Tech 26

LAST SEASON'S MATCHUP: Did not play as Lewis Mills did not field a varsity team

TISCIA'S PICK: Cromwell 38, Lewis Mills 13. The Spartans return to the field two weeks after their bench-clearing brawl with North Branford that resulted in the forfeit of that contest and their game last week. The Spartans are too young and not strong enough yet to compete with Cromwell.

Note: Wolcott Tech has a bye this week.
