 The Wolcott Tech Girls Volleyball Team played their only game of the week with a victory over Abbott Tech of Danbury, extending their winning streak to 7 games in a row.

Setter Logan Bassett had 2 aces, 10 assists, 2 digs, 2 kills; Outside Hitter Chelsea Tokarz had 4 aces, 6 kills, 3 digs, 1 assist; Outside Hitter Jocelyn Jones had 7 aces, 2 kills, 2 digs: Middle Hitter Jennifer Hislop had 4 aces, 5 kills, 1 block; Outside Hitter Rachel D’Amato had 2 aces,1 dig; Emily Benson had 1 ace, 2 kills; Megan Hislop 2 aces, 2 kills; Alyssa Bard had 5 digs and 87% serve receive accuracy and Nichole DuBois with 1 ace.

The Wolcott Tech coaching staff is pleased that the girls have learned to develop their serving consistency with a total of 23 aces. Their dedication in practice is showing benefits on the court. The team is working on some new offense techniques that appeared during the game today. They continue to improve as a team every day in practice and games.

Congratulations goes out to our outside hitter Jocelyn Jones for being chosen as the Wolcott Tech Athlete of the month, and to Rachel D’Amato for being the Waterbury Republican Athlete of the week.

Abbott Tech had Helena Flake with 11 points, 3 aces, 5 digs and Katrina Fyler with 4 points and 10 assists.

 Wolcott Tech’s record goes to 7-0 and Abbott Tech goes to 2-4 overall and 2-2 in the CSC.

 The Wildcats play Nonnewaug on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 with a 4:00pm jv start, followed by varsity at the Nonnewaug gym.
